LOCAL TV NEWS ON FOURSQUARE

What I’d like to know is … what sort of coverage did NBC 10 Philadelphia decide to cut to start offering this special info on (and about) Foursquare?  Yeah, over time, they’ll come up with a very cool map of past coverage.  I’m not sure how that makes them a better news station on their key parameters that viewers and web visitors are looking for.  We all know that money is scarce in newsrooms, and that they probably didn’t create any new positions to make this happen!

FOLLOW THE PRESIDENT

More Foursquare news … The White House signed up as a location on Foursquare, and got a lot of attention from folks who are on that social/geographical service.  If anything, this shows the continuing power of a really good idea.

THE POWER OF THE NUMBERS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

I’ve got one foot planted in the broadcasting world, and one foot planted in the digital world.  Sometimes, I find it frustrating to talk with broadcasters who just can’t be bothered with the digital side of things.  If you’re carrying the ball for digital where you work, I hope you find this motivating.  It might even give you enough information to change a few minds!

IF IT’S CRITICAL, HOW COME YOU AIN’T DOIN’ IT YET?

This short piece shows the awareness that brands must adopt better social strategies.  From how it’s written, it’s also clear that being more social is something that’s still off in the future … not a present-day reality.  Sounds like these CEO’s need to talk with a Chris Miller-type of consultant.  Just sayin’.
