Back in early November, I blogged about all those “hot babe” galleries that you see at some rock radio station websites … as well as other stations that tend to “skew male.”
My advice was to take them all down. They get you web hits, but they are empty calories when it comes to building your brand. Click here to read Web Hits That Are Crack Cocaine.
So, what do you do instead? That’s what today’s post is about. Here’s how you do some instant digital brand management. This is a do-it-yourself project, and in just a few minutes, you’ll be able to see how you’re doing!
Think about everything that makes your brand special. Music … morning show or other air talent … features … contests … promotions … events … local news, weather, traffic … talk shows … special weekend themes or programming … whatever it might be.
Look at your website. Thinking about everything important about your brand that’s on the air … does it also have dedicated space at your website? Is it easy to find? Is it easy to learn more at your website than I might hear on your broadcast?
Since your social media is a good place for your biggest fans to learn more about you … are your Facebook posts all about what makes your brand special, so your biggest fans don’t miss anything? Do they give them insider information that they might not hear on the air? In other words, are you using your Facebook brand page to treat your biggest fans in an extra-special way?
How’d you do? I’d be curious to hear any thoughts or questions you might have now.
