Here’s your weekly run-through of some digital news that could make you even smarter at work than you already are, if such a thing is possible?!?

GETTING A TABLET CHANGES MEDIA CONSUMPTION

So here’s a study showing that, when you get a tablet, you start using your desktop computer less.  No surprise there, huh?  There wasn’t a big change in TV usage; but there was a 20% drop in mp3 player usage.

But how about radio?  They didn’t ask about radio, even though they did ask about other media and devices.  Hmmm.  What does that tell you about our top-of-mindedness?

WHO WINS WHEN THEY PIN

Pinterest is scooping up a ton of attention and time from adult women, who are perhaps the group with the least amount of extra time to give.  There’s an art to creating a good brand presence on Pinterest; it’s not like either traditional media or other social media.

WHASSUP WITH GOOGLE+?

I still believe that if you are doing social media for a media brand, Google+ is a distraction and not worth your time.  It’s like a radio station with a ton of cume that everyone listens to for only 5 minutes a week.  However, I’m keeping my eye on them in case that changes.
